LEXICAL OPPOSITIONS IN SERHIY ZHADAN’S POETRY

Abstract

The article deals with an actual and interesting problem of modern linguostilistics such as to research the semantically opposed lexemes. The aim of the proposed article is to analyze the antonymic pairs, antonymic and synonymic paradigms and oxymoron syntagms fixed in the poetic Zhadan’s vocabulary. The achievement of setting objectives requires solving the following tasks: 1) to identify antonymic pairs, antonymic and synonymic paradigms in Zhadan’s poetics; 2) to characterize the most productive oppositions; 3) to determine the stylistic functions of antithesis in the researched poetic texts. As a result it has been characterized the emotional antonymic pairs, antonymic and synonymic paradigms which nominated polar feelings, contradictory emotional states of lyrical hero, contrast physiological processes and emotions, which are the most productive in the researchers of poetic texts, and also temporal, locative, antonymic steam and antonymous paradigm, synonyms and opozyty representant of components, social relations and religious beliefes. The analysis of the fact materials proved that the poetic language is maximum actualized the potential polisemantic antonyms and antonymic and synonymic interaction of lexemes. The poetess used not only the contrast emotional lexemes, but also temporal oppositions for transforming pleasant and enjoyable feelings and expressing positive state of the lyrical hero and his painful experiences.It has been proved that antithesis in the researched poetic texts was used for creating contrast characteristics of heroes; for underlining the contrast described objects and phenomenon of the reality; for transforming polar emotions.The analysis confirmed that the poetic Zhadan’s vocabulary contains the productive oppositions and oxymoron syntagms, semantically opposed lexemes which give an opportunity to characterize the object from polar point of view, to join the contrasts, to transform the contrasting people spirit and feeling. The wide-spread usage of contrast lexemes proves the tendency concerning to the unconnected notions and author’s extraordinary reality perception. The perspective researches deals with examining the oppositions on the material of the poetic texts of other authors. Defined functions stylistic antithesis and oksymoronnyh syntagmatic studied in poetry.Key words: amplification, antonymic and synonymic paradigm, emotional opposition, oxymoron syntagm, metaphor, poetic vocabulary, positive and negative connotation, stylistic function.
